From the cruising to racing, follow The Sailing Frenchman around the globe. My name is Hugo Picard, in 2017, I quit my land job to refit my 50 yo boat and sail across the Atlantic. I love cruising, but I felt I needed more, so focused my efforts into getting on the offshore racing scene. So 2 years later, I was recruited by the Clipper Round the World Race to be first mate on one of the eleven 70ft race boats to sail around the world. Unfortunately, COVID suspended the race 2/3 around the world and while my team was 2nd overall... But us sailors have to adapt, so I moved onto an old dream I had, race the Mini Transat. It's a single handed race across the Atlantic on powerfull 6.50 meters boats, build for offshore and high speed crossings.

It's been long awaited, but finally, I have both the new cylinder head and some time in my hands to mount everything back together.
After more than 3 month cruising without engine, maybe it's time to have some mechanical propulsion again.
